People who love travelling would agree that road trips are fun. The trip on a vehicle gives you a chance to explore different places but in an unconventional way. Sometimes you might get a chance to pull over at an inn and a few times the makeshift tents are the only resort. So, the next time you are out to explore another destination on your vehicle, make sure that you carry these.
1. Insurance Policy, driving license and RC
The first and the foremost thing, which you should collect before driving off to your road trip is the insurance policy, driving license and the copy of your RC. This is because it is illegal to drive without these documents in India.
In case your insurance has expired, you can surely renew your vehicle insurance online. It is very easy to renew your insurance online. One just needs to feed in the vehicle details and the expired policy number. As soon as you enter these details you would be able to choose the cheapest quotes available for your vehicle. Online vehicle insurance is cheaper and can be bought any time, unlike the offline process where one needs to wait for the agent to begin with.
2. Spare Tyre
It is wise to tag a spare tyre with your vehicle so that in the case of a flat tyre you need not wait for the puncture to be fixed. Make sure that you carry a mini tool kit as well to help you remove and replace the tyres.
3. Flat Tyre Inflator and Sealant
When on a journey, you can expect the unexpected to happen. Your tyre may puncture once, twice or even thrice or may not puncture at all. So, in the case of multiple punctures, it is impossible to think that you would have a spare tyre every time. Carrying a small flat tyre inflator and sealant on your trip is a better alternative. In case, the nearest workshop or garage is 4 to 5 km away, you can at least fix your tyre to reach there.
4. Navigation Tool
The route and locations of a road trip are often predefined. So, travellers generally keep a map, which has the route outlined. Every smart phone has a navigator and people rely on the same in case they are lost. But, it is advisable that one installs a navigation accessory on the vehicle.
5. A flashlight
A flashlight is a necessary accessory, which should never be ignored. Some people may argue that their cell phones have a flashlight and that would suffice the purpose. But, it should be kept in mind that the same flashlight cannot be used in case of low battery of the phone.
6. A Mini Fire Extinguisher
A mini fire extinguisher should be carried while on a road trip for added safety and to avoid any mishap.
7. Water
A long journey without an adequate number of breaks can lead to overheating of the engine. Therefore, it is advisable that you carry a few extra litres of water, for the emergency situations where you might need some amount of coolant.
